Species list
This species list is based on observations in March 2006, 2007 and 2008,
and in July 2008 by Ron Crosby. Ron noted that in summer 2008,
the Tubularia are in a very sorry state,
having been grazed back to the extent that there were very few intact
specimens. Some of the fish do appear to be summer visitors, otherwise
variability between visits is probably down to not spotting organisms,
rather than to a change in the overall species composition on the
wall with time. He says that while we've got a lot of organisms here,
(Lochaline wall is one of the most diverse marine ecosystems we regularly
dive) an expert in seaweeds or bryozoans could add a dozen more!
