The 2009 photo competition was kindly sponsored by Ortalan - effective management of corporate risk and public safety. Beachwatch and Adopt-a-Beach Beach litter projectsFor more than five years now members and supporters of the Group have been carrying out beach cleans and litter surveys on two beaches near Heysham, Lancashire. The surveys have been conducted on a quarterly basis, in spring, summer, autumn and winter. This gives us some indication of seasonal variations in quantity and types of litter to be found on the beach. Lochaline trip: Summer 2009Sorry, we have not been able to make up numbers for this trip, which we've had to cancel. If you are interested in diving some of the wrecks in the Sound of Mull this summer, and contributing to their understanding, the NAS will be running the Sound of Mull Archaeological Project (SOMAP) field school in July, see below for further information: |

Fund raising event, Cross Bay Walk, Arnside to Kents Bank. Walk starts at 12.15hrs. prompt. Tickets £5.00, under 15's free Tickets available in advance and further information from Rita Crosby.
